From the Eudora Welty Digital Archives Photographs Collection - MDAH. Black-and-white photograph of two adult women [left: Chestina Welty, right: Stella Upshur] standing at the bottom of a concrete and stone stair wall. The woman on the left is wearing a dark jacket and the woman on the right is wearing a dark-colored dress with light-colored ruffles at the neckline and cuffs. A young girl [Eudora Welty] is sitting on the wall, with a dark-colored patterned jacket and skirt with light-colored stockings and shoes. The women are holding a toddler [Edward Welty] in a light-colored dress. The girl, toddler, and woman on the right are looking at the camera while the woman on the left looks at the toddler. There is a road, a porch, and a building in the background.
