This “Digital Snapshot” Exhibit features photographs, news clippings, and correspondence located in the Mississippi Department of Archives and History (MDAH) Foner (Thomas) Freedom Summer Papers digitized collection.
This collection by Thomas Foner highlights the experiences and efforts of volunteers during the Mississippi Freedom Summer Project of 1964 where they aided in the registration of African American voters and establishing Freedom Schools in the state of Mississippi.
This program is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities through the Mississippi Humanities Council.
