Detailed Description

From the Eudora Welty Digital Archives Photographs Collection - MDAH. Black-and-white photograph of a city street with various people turned away from the camera and watching a train fire. Closest to the camera is a boy on a bicycle with another child running behind him, people are walking or standing in the street, are walking on the sidewalks, and a few people are standing on the train roof. Several large hoses are stretched from the camera's leftside view towards the train. Smoke rises from a train car and over a nearby brick building.
