Foreword: "The purpose of this picture booklet is to show some of the vast improvements made at the penitentiary since the inauguration of the current administration. Upon recommendation of Governor Paul B. Johnson, the Board of Commissioners and Superintendent C. E. Breazeale have instituted more lucrative farming practices by expanding the use of mechanical equipment and incorporating other agricultural projects. Improvements have been made on buildings and grounds that are used in the production of Dairy products, beef, pork, and poultry. (Pictures made and booklet prepared under the supervision of Sgt. P. O. Miller, Identification Officer.)"
