From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Parchman (Mississippi State Penitentiary) Photograph Booklet (1695). Black-and-white photograph of several black men in solid, light-colored shirts standing in the image’s left side. The individuals are standing in between cows, and are in a room with concrete floors, wooden walls and ceiling, and various pipes and hoses along the ceiling and walls. There is a central walkway with buckets and large milk cans.
