Detailed Description

From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Rogers (Jeff) Hurricane Katrina Photographs Collection (PI/2005.0024). Color photograph of storm damage in a neighborhood in Rankin County. In the foreground of the image on the road, there is mud and dirt covering the road almost entirely with a lot of leaves mixed in and scattered across the front lawns of the homes on either side of the roadway. In the background further down the street, there are large branches or portions from trees on the ground making the road very narrow in most areas. The powerlines on the right side of the road appear to still be up and not hit by any of the falling tree limbs in the roadway.
