Detailed Description

From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Rogers (Jeff) Hurricane Katrina Photographs Collection (PI/2005.0024). Color photograph of storm damage to a house and the surrounding yard. In the foreground of the image, there is a chain link fence that is covered with debris from trees and trash. Beyond the fence, there is a field that is littered with trash, leaves, and pieces of trees. The trees in the picture are barren of most of their leaves. In the center of the image there is a blue house that has been heavily damaged in the storm. A part of the roof has fallen and one of the walls is partially collapsed inwards on the rest of house. There is also lots of debris surrounding the home. On the extreme right side of the photo, there appears to be another structure through the tree with the words “KEEP OFF” spraypainted in large red letters on it.
