Detailed Description

From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Rogers (Jeff) Hurricane Katrina Photographs Collection (PI/2005.0024). Color photograph of a severely cracked road and bridge over a large body of water. The bridge is broken into several pieces and is seen from the middle foreground to the photo’s center. There are former pier footings and trees on the photo’s left side, while in the right-side background, is another broken bridge that two people are standing on. In the far-right background is a truss bridge and in the central background are boats with cranes, and the other side of the collapsed bridge that leads to a cityscape in the far background.
