Archival Description

Detailed Description

From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Allard (Michael A.) Hurricane Katrina Photograph Collection (EA2012.004). Color photograph of storm damage to a neighborhood. In the foreground, there is a tree stripped bare of its leaves and large pieces of wood and other building debris scattered about. There is also what appears to be a pipe from plumbing or waterworks exposed in the ground. There is also a bulldozer with “MDOT” written on the side and the trailer to transport the bulldozer. In the background, the ruins of a home can be seen. The home, which appears to have been partially crushed appears to be leaning forward at an unnatural angle while the porch on the right-hand side has collapsed to the ground.
