Detailed Description
From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Hurricane Camille Photograph Collection (PI/NA/H43.6). Color photograph of a mostly-collapsed, wood building. There is foliage at the bottom of the photo and a walkway through a front lawn leads up to a set of stairs. There is a sign on the photo’s right-side that reads “CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SERVICES SUNDAY 7:30 A.M. 10:00 A.M. 6:30 P.M. CHURCH SCHOOL 10:00 A.M. WEDNESDAY 10:00 A.M.” with further unreadable text at the sign’s bottom. There is a light pole next to the sign. In the photo’s center is some of the building’s exterior wall still standing, with a large pile of wood building debris. In the far background are trees and more buildings.
