From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Crowe (Milburn J.) Photograph Album Collection. Three black-and-white portraits of different African American individuals. Each photograph is in a rounded cut-out with a simple line border and the overall page has a line border with floral decorations in the corners. The top-right is a portrait of a boy or young man sitting with his body pointed towards the camera and looking to the camera’s left. He is wearing a dark suit with the jacket unbuttoned, the vest is buttoned and decorated with a ribbon tied in a bow at the top button, a light-colored button-up, and dark tie. He is also wearing a light-colored wide-brimmed hat with a dark ribbon around it. His left elbow is bent and resting against the chair’s arm. His left leg is crossed over his right knee and his hands are resting in his lap. The image has an embossed border. The top-right is a portrait of a man facing the camera and his body slightly turned towards his right. He is wearing a darker-colored tweed-patterned suit with a light-colored button-up and dark tie. He has a dark mustache and beard, which falls to the top of his shirt-collar. His dark hair is in a short-cropped style. The top-right corner of the page above the image is torn-off. The bottom-right is a portrait of a young woman facing the camera. She is wearing dark clothes with a light-colored, lace kerchief tied around her neck. She is also wearing a necklace with a large chain and pendant. Her dark hair is pulled up away from her face and she is wearing a light-colored hat with decorative flowers on it. The top of the image is partially torn. The bottom-left opening does not have a photograph, in the opening is text that reads “FROM Parkhill’s Gallery, No. 40 MAIN STREET, Evansville, Ind. J. B. MEEKER, PHOTOGRAPHER.” There is some deterioration at the page’s bottom.
