From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Crowe (Milburn J.) Photograph Album Collection. A black-and-white photograph of a young African American child. The photograph has a simple line border with a floral pattern in the corners. They are sitting in an ornate part-wood, part-upholstered chair decorated with rope fringe. They have dark curly hair in a short style and are wearing a dark shirt with dark breeches. The shirt has a high collar with a tied kerchief, as well as several large buttons down the front and light-colored frills on the cuffs. The bottoms have rows of large buttons down the side. The child has light-colored socks that are knee-length and is wearing dark shoes with buckles on the top. Their left arm is bent with their forearm resting on the chair's arm and their right hand is resting in their lap. Their right leg is bent at the knee and is resting on the chair with their left leg overtop their right ankle and is dangling off the chair. There are some stains and water damage on the page and photograph, with severe water damage and deterioration on the bottom of the page.
