From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Crowe (Milburn J.) Photograph Album Collection. A black-and-white portrait of a young African American girl. The photograph has a simple line border with a floral pattern in the corners. She is standing with her body and head facing the camera. Her hair is curly and loose, falling about shoulder-length. She is wearing a dark dress; the skirt ends at about knee-height and the jacket has several large buttons down the front. The cuffs and collar are a light-color with ruffles and lace. Her arms are straight at her sides, she has a ring on her right pointer finger, and is holding a checker-patterned purse in her left hand. She is wearing dark lace-up boots with light stockings, and her left leg is bent and crossed over her right leg. She is standing in front of an ornate staircase banister. "Sissy Lewis" is written in blue above the photograph. There is water damage at the top of the page and tearing and deterioration at the bottom of the page.
