From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Crowe (Milburn J.) Photograph Album Collection. A black-and-white portrait of an African American woman. The photograph has a simple line border with a floral pattern in the corners. She is standing with her hands behind her back and her body is turned towards the camera, but she is facing the camera's right. She is wearing a dark dress with a line of large buttons down the front of the chest and hips, and a ruffled kerchief is around her neck and pinned in the front. Her hair is curly and pinned back off her shoulders. The photograph stops at about mid-thigh height. "G. Whylie" is written in blue above the photograph. The photograph is slightly torn at the top, and the page has some tears around the edges with severe deterioration at the bottom.
