From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History Anti-Slavery Alphabet Series. This card is the front and back of the eighth page. The front-side is blank. The back-side has the text "I" and "I is the Infant, from the arms Of its fond mother torn, And, at a public auction, sold With horses, cows, and corn." And "J" and "J is the Jail, upon whose floor That wretched mother lay, Until her cruel master came, And carried her away."
