Mississippi River Flood of 1927, Page 70; 1927-05-03
Description
From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History 1927 Flood Photograph Collection. Shows a single black-and-white photograph of a flood scene. The left-side of the photo shows several figures walking and cars parked on a flooded street and rail-road tracks, power lines and poles line the street. On the photo’s right-side, there is a levee next to the street which holds a high-level of flood-waters and a boat tied to the shore on the right side. There are rows of buildings lining the streets and parked cars in the background on the camera's left, with a tree line in the far background on the camera's right-side. On the levee wall is a sign that reads "FERRY LANDING." Text in bottom right reads "Vicksburg, Miss. 5-3-27."
