Description
From the Mississippi Department of Archives and History 1927 Flood Photograph Collection. Shows four black-and-white photographs put together to form a panorama of a flood scene. The far-left portion was taken from the roof of a train box-car and depicts a figure hanging laundry on a floating platform that is attached to the car, as well as two figures sitting in a row-boat, a number of various-sized buildings, a train car filled with logs, floating debris, and a tree line in the background. In the middle-left portion is the side view of a long building, a vehicle partially submerged, floating debris, and trees behind the building. In the middle-right portion is a view of a flooded street with a row of one-story buildings on the left side and one building on the right side, there are utility-poles and rows of vehicles parked in front of the single building, and there are utility-poles and a water-tower behind the building. In the far-right portion is a utility-pole in the immediate foreground, a floating dock, and several large buildings in front of a tree line and another water-tower. Text in the far bottom right reads "V. S & P - Tallulah, 5-24-27."
